1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Maris, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Eligibility & Use of Service

Age Requirements: You must be at least 13 years old to use Maris. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. By using Maris, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

Maris is a focus timer application designed to help you manage your attention. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes.

You agree not to:

• Use the service in any way that violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the service to harm, abuse, or harass others
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers

Voluntary Restrictions: You acknowledge that enabling "Strict Mode" or "App Blocking" is a voluntary action to restrict your own device access. Maris is not responsible for missed notifications or messages during a Focus Session.

3. Device Permissions & Functionality

Maris requires specific device permissions to function correctly, including but not limited to:

• Android: Accessibility Service permission (for app blocking).
• iOS: Screen Time / Family Controls permission (for app blocking).

Revoking these permissions will degrade or disable core app functionality.

4. Account Registration

To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

5. Subscription and Payment

Maris offers premium features via subscription. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store ("Merchant of Record").

Refunds: Maris cannot directly issue refunds. Please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for billing disputes.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Maris are the exclusive property of Maris and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Maris is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maris shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Where possible and appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the violation before termination, unless the violation is severe, illegal, or harmful to others.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Dispute Resolution

If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting Us. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days of submission, You or Maris must resolve any claims relating to these Terms, the Services, or the Software through final and binding arbitration.

Class Action Waiver: You may only resolve disputes with us on an individual basis, and may not bring a claim as a plaintiff or a class member in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
